Overview

The best thing here is the shape: part armchair, part little bench, with a slatted back that catches the light beautifully. Old elm gives it a dense, honest feel under the hand, and the grain has that slightly wild, wavy movement. A compact piece with real backbone.

Key Features

  • Solid reclaimed elm frame with a compact 68cm width.
  • Reclaimed elm often carries knots, tonal shifts and old grain marks from its previous life.
  • Slatted backrest gives the piece a lighter look and lets sunlight pass through.
  • A good fit as a wooden bench seat in a bedroom, hallway, bathroom corner or dining nook.
  • Traditional mortise-and-tenon style joinery.
  • Warm honey-brown tone with visible elm grain across the seat and side panels.
  • Low seat height creates a relaxed, grounded sit.
  • Front stretcher rail adds support and gives the frame a tidy, finished line.
  • Works as a small hallway bench, occasional chair or indoor wooden bench.

Materials

Made from solid reclaimed elm with a warm natural finish that brings out the grain and gives the surface a gentle sheen. Reclaimed elm brings more visible character than freshly milled timber, so expect knots, colour variation, old marks and grain movement.

Care
  • Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Avoid harsh cleaning sprays, bleach and abrasive pads.
  • Keep away from direct heat sources and prolonged strong sunlight.
  • Refresh with suitable wood oil or wax every 6–12 months, depending on use.
